Gundam 00 Episode 6: Seven Swords

This is the latest episode of Gundam Double O, and I'm quite sure that fans will know immediately that the title refers to the seven swords, sabers, and blades of Exia. And as promised by the title as well, Gundam Exia shows off all the swords in this episode (technically, around five minutes before the end of the show actually), and that probably hints you how serious the action is in this episode.

While Gundam Double O has kept consistently to its talk-first-all-action-later kind of storyline for each episode, I'm starting to think that it's going to get much more complicated and interesting in the episodes to come. So far, for the 'talk-first' ^^ section, each episode only explain more on the background of the different characters, and very little, almost nil on character development. Setsuna's characteristic never changed much so far, and the same goes with Lockon, Tieria and Allelujah, even though Allelujah temporarily did lost his Gundam Meister coolness in the last episode. In this episode, we get some to know that Celestial Beings, AEU, PMC alike, all the characters are somewhat connected to each other, and how will their intertwined relationship be developed is what I'm very interested to find out in future episodes.

On the other hand, we get to see more of the two girls from Ptolemaios: Felt Grace and Christina Sierra. Personally, I like Felt more ^^

Felt is the pink-haired girl on the right ^^

Also, Patrick Corlasawar, the first victim of Exia makes a come back in this episode, but this time, he faces Gundam Virtue. How did he do? You have to watch this episode to be 'amazed' XD

In terms of character appearance, this episode managed to put almost everyone significant in Gundam Double O (so far) onto the stage, with the exception of Kinue Crossroad, Saji's reporter sister. As a result, some people just came on screen with one line of script, and no more. If you go to get yourself a drink or something, you'll probably miss several people in some scenes :) At the same time, a new character is introduced as well, and a very important one as well.

As for the action, well, make sure you don't blink your eyes too much, or you'll miss out a lot!

Other key points of this episode include:
(1) All weapons free!
(2) Headshots XD
(3) 130 cannon fodders XD
(4) Shogun Enact!!
(5) Setsuna's sifu (teacher)

If you don't mind the Chinese subtitle, you can watch this episode on Tudou.

More MS Girls

More cute girls in robot-armors ^^

I always find this photo funny: although the girl in this photo isn't exactly in Gundam armor, her boyfriend is Gundam himself!
If you're a hardcore Gundam fan, can you imagine yourself as the Gundam in this picture when you go out shopping with your girlfriend? XD

The Zeon girls from yesterday grow up and turn into Titans girls ^^

Probably the most realistic MS girls around ^^; Looks like some Gundam fans' plan for cosplay event to me~

Also, there are those unrelated to Gundam as well:

There's a series called Busou Shinki (武装神姫) featuring girls who can dock with airplanes. I don't think these are from the series though.

Grand Convoy from Transformers Superlink!

Back to MS Girls, if you think there's no models based on them, well, think again:

Tips of an iceberg: Rick-Dom girls! from Z.M.M. Zeono Musume

I'm pretty sure there are more models of MS Girls, just have to look for them ^^ Anyway, enjoy Gundam 00 Episode 6 everybody!

MS Girls

A few friends, as well readers asked me about the Destiny girl picture I used as the banner for this blog. So, for this posting, lets talk a bit about the girls ^^

Officially, Gundam armor-clad cute anime girls are called MS Girls. Featuring EFSF and Zeon mechas initially, the series quickly spawned to include other Gundam series as well. As you can see from the banner, Destiny has being added to the list of Gundam cuteness, and I'm sure Gundam Exia will be soon.

Anyone interested to illustrate Turn A into a Gundam girl ^^;

Thanks to Chong for telling me the source of MG Girls.

Just as we should thank Hajime Katoki-senshe for giving us Gundam Sentinel, Gundam Unicorn and others, Akitaka Mika-senshe is the person we must thank for giving us this series. Akitaka Mika is also one of the designers of ZZ Gundam.

Following the diversity in the Gundam universe, ways to draw MS Girls are quite diverted as well. I saw some which are extremely cute:

Char's Zaku II and Zaku II ^^

Zeon MS Girls family photo! How many do you recognize?

Some others are 'slightly more serious' XD:

And that include Destiny I used for the banner.

This has got to be the sexiest Akatsuki around ^^

Gundam Ver. Ka and Gouf Custom.

From MS Girls, DEEP Striker. All the armors and the cannon look excessive for the girl, but she seems quite happy anyway :)

The highest level of MG Girls I think, are those designed in a fashion similar to the ones below:

Wing Zero Custom!

God Gundam!

And these are my favorite: NRX-055 Baund Doc Gates Kappa (left) and Rosamia Badam's color. Turning a weird MS with a wok mounted on its butts into such elegance is like mission impossible completed to me XD

Ka-wa-ii^^ Stay tuned for more!

IMPORTANT: I gathered these images from attachment on the different forums visited in the past, therefore I'm unable to verify their sources.

Gundam 00 Episode 5

Gundam 00 Episode 5: Breakaway Limit Zone is out. I watched it on Tudou just now, and found this episode extremely interesting. In short, Gundam Kyrios is involved in an emergency rescue mission in space, and this time, both the Celestial Beings and the military force they are opposing put aside the fight and cooperated for the mission.

Respect ^^ especially to Commander Sergei Smirnov, the pilot of Tieren who worked with Allelujah for the rescue. Having being KO-ed so badly by Exia in Episode 3, he didn't have any hatred towards the Gundam Meisters, but focused on the lives he had to save at that moment.

Also, I think starting from this episode, we'll get more insights into each of the Gundam Meisters's background and characteristics. This episode for example, is mainly about Allelujah and his negative childhood experience in space.

On the other hand, this episode materialized the idea of Newtype-like response in Gundam 00. In the last episode, we only get to hear about the "Super-soldier" project of the Human Reform League when Soma Peiris was introduced. In this episode, both she and Allelujah showed some signs of telepathic connection, and the girl even went into "berserker mode" because of that ^^; Do the other Gundam Meisters have such ability? We have to wait for more episodes in the future to find out about that.

Some other key points in this episode:
(1) Louise Halevy
(2) Pink Tieren XD
(4) Cloud cutting XD

Since this posting is about Gundam 00, I think I'll just slip in the photo of the upcoming HG 1/144 Gundam Virtue. As compared to the FG version, more colors are molded, and its articulation seems OK to me, despite the bulky armor. Plus, it comes with a beam saber (maybe two), which is a weapon we haven't see Virtue use yet.

Available in early December, 1,500 Yen. Image from Hobby Japan magazine December issue.

Plus, super hot figurines from Gundam 00! ^^ They are Banpresto Gundam 00 DX Heroine Figures 3 for mid May 2008. Not sure how fans can get them, but they sure look very tempting ^^

That'll be all for this posting, I'll have to go and treat my nose-bleeding now ^^;
